Departmental Committees Constitution and Responsibilities

Programme Assessment Quality Improvement Committee (PAQIC)

Objective:

To enhance the Quality of the Program and to ensure Continuous Improvement in terms of Curriculum, Teaching Learning Process (TLP), Student Performance, Faculty Contributions, Infrastructural Facilities, Student Support Systems and Industry Interaction by effectively involving the stakeholders.

ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES OF Programme Assessment Quality Improvement Committee (PAQIC)

The PAQIC is headed by the Program coordinator (PC). The other members of the PAQIC.

 

The responsibilities of the PAQIC:

  • Helps the HOD to coordinate the academic activities of the
  • Make relevant decisions to help in the betterment of teaching learning process of the department which includes:
    • Identification of curriculum gaps and implementation of bridging techniques.
    • Allocation of courses to the faculty
  • Finalization of contents of the course files
  • Finalization of course outcomes of courses
  • Decide the evaluation process, specific to the department, if
  • Calculate the program level attainment of PO/PSO
  • Finalization of the Rubrics for Course Asessments
  • Finalize the internal evaluation question paper and assignment questions.
  • Preparation of the department academic calendar and scheduling of the academic activities as per the department calendar including, but not restricted to:
    • Assigns courses in a semester to different faculty.
    • To check the Quality of course file randomly
    • To check the Quality of Internal Exam question papers
    • Posting of progress report to the parents containing series and university results
    • Instruct staff advisors to convene parents meetings at prescribed dates.
    • Monitors the coverage of syllabus of each course with permission of the Head of the Department
    • Monitors the progress of students and instructs remedial measures to the concerned faculty handling the course,
  • Helps to formulate policies inside the department for the proper functioning of the department, which includes formulation of the following for the department with concurrence of DAC.
    • Vision and Mission with inputs from the Department Advisory Committee(DAC) and stakeholders

 

  • Program Educational Objectives (PEO)with inputs from the DAC and stakeholders.
    • Program Specific Outcomes(PSO)with inputs from other faculty members and students of the department
    • Action initiated on different Feedbacks received
